In preparation for my new website, I thought it was fitting to share a message written by a strong supporter who has gone home to be with the Lord. The Late Rev. Richard Buckmon, Sr. (deceased) and his family has always been a part of my life for over 40 years. This message is taken from my newsletter published in September 2000. May his words encourage you today.
A MESSAGE OF INSPIRATION BY THE LATE REV. RICHARD BUCKMON, SR.
Lift up your eyes and look on the fields...IT IS HARVEST TIME!
Sis. Cheryl White, Psalm 45:1 identifies you! "My heart is inditing a good matter. I speak of the things, which I have made touching the King. My tongue is the pen of a ready writer."
Matthew 24:14 "And the gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come."
The greatest revival in the history of mankind is about to take place! I believe that we are about to experience the unthinkable, see the unbelievable, and witness miracles so glorious that we will stand in awe of God's power and glory. As a result of the great revival that will come to our church, there will be more of evangelism that will bring a great harvest of souls. I believe more people will be saved in a shorter time than ever before in the history of the church.
This is the movement of Jesus Christ will include the greatest movement of the miraculous, a time when every person in the body of Christ will be healed. Prosperity will come to the church on a very large scale. Making it possible for the gospel to be preached to the whole world, fulfilling (Matthew 24:14)).
Let us prepare ourselves for this glorious time, we must consider the admonition found in John 4:35, which declares: “Do you think the work of harvesting will not begin until the summer ends four months from now? Look around you! Vast fields of human souls are ripening all around us and are now ready for reaping. (John 4: 35) With prophecy being fulfilled on almost a daily basis, and with so much happening so quickly in the world, we know that the fields truly are ripe and ready for harvest. And what's most exciting is that you and I are going to be a part of it! The incredible doors of opportunity, that the Lord is opening, for us to preach the gospel on radio, and television, and the prisons, jail houses, nursing homes, campgrounds, and bible study in the homes are just some signs that tell me it's harvest time!
Years ago I heard, great men and women of God talking about a great harvest of souls and miraculous healings. And today we are witnessing it. Scenes such as this remind me of the story found in Luke 5:4 where Jesus says to Peter, launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught. Peter and his brother Andrew had fished all night and caught nothing. Yet as they obeyed the master, their catch of fish was so great that their nets began to break because of the abundance of fish. Their catch was so great that they needed help in pulling in the overflowing nets of fish into their boats. So great that the boat began to sink. The Bible says when Peter saw the miraculous results, he knelt before Jesus and said, “Depart from me; For I am a sinful man, Oh Lord” Luke 5:8. His brother, Andrew, and the others who were with him responded in the same way. Jesus turned to them and said, fear not; For henceforth thou shalt catch men Luke 5: 10. Jesus invited Matthew 4:19, which records His words: “Follow me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.” We are to be fishers of men as we fulfill the Great Commission: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15
In Romans, chapter 10, we read these words: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call upon him and whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” Romans 10:13-15. The Bible declares in First Corinthians 3: 7, God giveth the increase. Who sows or who waters isn't important, for both are essential for the harvest. A successful harvest of souls is dependent upon God giving the increase. Our responsibility is to go and proclaim the message of God's Word to the lost. He will bring the increase. This is God's mandate on my life.
Amen.
